Robert Wadlow

The Unique Life of the Boy Who Became the World’s Tallest Man

This children’s biography tells the story of Robert Wadlow, who learned to cope with unusual growth from an overactive pituitary gland. He was adult size by age 5 and just under 9 feet tall when he died as a young man. He lived from 1918 to 1940. Robert didn’t choose his situation, but his accomplishment was in how he handled it.

I’m attracted to Robert’s grace under tremendous pressure and discomfort. It’s something I personally strive for and must always work at. Let Robert’s life story inspire you as you reflect on how you handle your own life’s challenges.
